We have seen this problem and currently have an "enhancement" request in.
We have worked around this problem by setting the ptrepository directory
to the current directory. The problem here has to do with the fact that
you cannot hard link across directories in AFS.
I haven't spoken to HP about this lately so I will check up with them
next week and see where they are with it.
