Yes, DFS is shipping with AIX DCE 1.2 which will GA on 7/23
with first customer ship expected 7/30. DCE 1.2 prereqs the
libc subsystem PTF shipped with AIX 3.2.4 which also GAs on
7/23.

I believe the AFS/DFS migration toolkit is still a few months
away from being ready (Bob?), so from a DFS perspective, new
installation or coexistance are the two options initially
available. We have tested both client and server coexistance,
and haven't had any problems that I know of except for a few
command/server name collisions (i.e. two bos commands, two
bosservers).

Its not bug-free (big surprise :), but we think DFS is solid enough
for people to start using. The biggest unknown right now is
scalability since no one has really had the resources in a testing
environment to setup cells as large as some AFS sites have today.
I am currently in the process of setting up a DFS cell for my
area to use, both as an extension of testing efforts, and a transition
path from AFS.

Thanks, Dawn
