Is there such a thing as having an AFS cache that is too big?
For the nic machines, we think we want a rather large cache because
we have large files of either sound or pictures. So if multiple people
play the sound & view a series of pictures at the same time, we
think a large cache would help.

I am currently setting up a machine with about 392 Megabytes of cache.

What I note is that a lot of files are created in the cache
space. Maybe at the ratio of about one file for 10K of space.
This indicates over 39000 files in the cache space.

Does it actually degrade the efficiency of the operation by having
so many files in one directory?
