If you have a system that is capable of supporting filesystems
that are >2GB in size and is also capable of running an AFS
fileserver, is it possible/advisable to setup partitions that
are larger than 2GB? We've setup just such a partition on an AFS
fileserver that runs on an architecture not supported by Transarc.
The partition looks fine from a vos partinfo command; there are
no bad messages in any of the relevent log files about it. But
we're a little nervous about putting any volumes out there until
we understand any possible limitations in the AFS fileserver
support a little better.
I understand that IRIX allows an 8GB filesystem; perhaps someone
at Transarc has run into this question while working on the AFS
fileserver port to that OS?
Thanks for any information,
