Well, unfortunately, I'm not sure this holds true. We've made all of
our /vicep?'s 2048000, and have seen the problem 4 times over the past
three months. We're cautious about the AIX fix, because it's so big. We
may just bring up a fresh 3.2.4 image, test it, and migrate the servers.

We've got a far-far-fetched test case that we're going for next. We're
doing some cross-platform development, and think we may have found a
common denominator. All 4 times we lost a partition, a user was linking
a library on an HP. The HP was mounting /afs via the translator. Both
the server and the translator were RS/6000's. We're thinking of putting
up a 'volitile' server, that we can just try crashing over and over until
we figure it out. Unfortunately, this will have to fit in with the other
fires that we're fighting right now.
