Dear Member of the AFS Community:

Several AFS customers have been interested in having Transarc serve as
a "clearinghouse" for third-party and operating system vendor problems
encountered in an AFS environment.  Transarc supports this idea and
it will be one of my responsibilities to organize and maintain this
effort.

All of the information gathered will be made available via AFS in the
directory, /afs/transarc.com/public/tpp/afs.  Specific details can be
obtained by viewing the README file contained in the above directory.
(This directory structure will also be made available via anonymous ftp
>From grand.central.org for those users without direct AFS access.  The
pathname in the grand.central.org cell will be /afs/grand.central.org/
pub/tpp/afs).

AFS Site Contacts should continue to report problems with third-party/os
vendor software to their assigned Customer Service Representative.  Should
the CSR not be able to resolve your problem, I will work with the SC, the
CSR and the vendor to reach a resolution.  When you report problems of this
nature, I encourage you to supply the following information:

  o Vendor name
  o Product name
  o Problem description
  o Contact name, title, address, phone number, fax number, email address
