At the moment I have 42 HP 9000/700 workstations running AFS 3.2b
under HP-UX 9.01. Three of these, all AFS clients (i.e., with no
/vice partitions or fs processes) are showing intermittently
appalling performance. For example, during problem periods it can
take more than five minutes to log in on a 735 workstation which
has no other users logged in, and no significant background processes.
Pressing <RETURN> results in a shell prompt some minutes later.
Has anyone else observed any of this? A typical machine has 100mb
of swap space and a 100mb AFS cache.
