back at decorum'94 in orlando i remember being in a mass storage bof
session in which phil lehman promised he'd announce, by april 1, whether
or not transarc would pick up the pittsburgh supercomputer center's
multi-residency afs code, which allows afs file servers to serve files
stored on mass storage devices, among other things.

well, it's been three weeks, and i haven't heard anything, one way or the
other. judging from the attendees at the orlando bof, there are lots
of afs users who need mass storage solutions and are looking to transarc
to provide one. failing that, i'm sure the community would appreciate knowing
that transarc is *not* going to do anything with afs and mass storage, so
the rest of us can get on with it.

i first asked about this a week ago in alt.filesystems.afs, but that
group seems to be fairly devoid of traffic these days.
