Well I finally put the Expect scripts we use here into the contrib area of
Tranarc. The path is:
/afs/transarc.com/public/afs-contrib/src/umich-ifsdpl/backup-automate
There are 3 Expect scripts there plus a readme file. I updated the scripts to
work with afs3.3 and put in support for appended dumps. We currently use these
scripts to perform nightly unattended backups of 3 fileservers containing 60 gig
of data. The scripts have been in use for 5 weeks now. When things are
working correctly, we only visit the tape stackers once a week to change tapes.
Hopefully these will be useful building blocks for those of you who wish to
automate your own backups.
