On my last posting about PCI, I excerpt'ed some info from Lyle that was
missing some context. I apologize to Lyle for that.
The gist of the situation is that Transarc has done some work in 3.4 to
help the PC Browser work faster. For those of us who know anything about the
File Manager browser, this is a welcome change and I'm glad to see Transarc
working closely with this product. As it turns out, it's relatively quick with
3.2b anyways due to some work Locus has put in recently (BTW, its when
the browser is looking at the root of /afs that is real issue here).
Also, for some of the limited criticism I have posted about PCI, our general
feelings here are that the product is very useable, robust, and we are anxious
to try it out on a large scale. When we finish our final report, I'll be making
it available to folks on this mailing list.
