Hi there. As a test machine, we have a client running AFS3.3a rlogind,
/bin/login, ftpd, and rlogin. All of our other clients simply use
vendor supplied binaries for now (AFS wise, they just use afsd)
cslip% rlogin afstest
Password:
[ before I can even start to type my password, I get: ]
Unable to read password because can't read password from terminal
Login incorrect
login: jblaine
Password:
AFS (R) 3.3 Login
TERM = (vt100)
Here, host cslip is a SPARCbook 2 (SunOS 4.1.3) connected via CSLIP
running nothing AFS-wise (not even afsd). Host afstest is the host which
has AFS3.3a rlogind, ftpd, etc in place.
Has anyone run across this quirk? I'm speaking of the line:
Unable to read password because can't read password from terminal
Why is it happening? What does it _really_ mean program wise?
Thanks for any clarification or help.
