There's yet another modified version of popper 1.831 in
/afs/umich.edu/group/itd/ftp/sysadm/mail/
kpop-1.831.tar.Z
that supports kpop instead of pop. Ie, no cleartext passwords
on the wire.
There is also something called "zcomsat.tar.Z" that supports
zephyrgrams from your mail server, which is useful if you have some
sort of bsd-ish mail setup (sendmail, etc.).
These can also be ftp'd - but why bother if you have AFS?
