I am happy to announce that Transarc has agreed to be a distribution
point for Linux-AFS, and they have agreed to allow distribution to all
Transarc licensees. Currently it is not available for export, only
domestic licensees can obtain it. I am negotiating with Transarc to
allow export, but for now it is not available for export (sorry).
You can find Linux-AFS in the transarc contribution area:
/afs/transarc.com/public/afs-contrib/bin/linux.client
You have to obtain tokens in order to read this directory.
Please read the README file in that directory, as it explains how to
install Linux-AFS, what kernels are supported (and known to work), and
what you should make sure to change before you start Linux-AFS (in
particular, PLEASE change /usr/vice/etc/ThisCell!)
Also, I'd be interested to know who uses it, and what kind of
performance you get. Also, any help you can give with finding errors
would be appreciated!
Sources are not yet available, although hopefully we will be able to
release diffs (probably in the source-contrib area) sometime soon.
Enjoy!
