Well, I now have a version of ls which looks up PTS id's, based on the Andrew
version of ls, which used White Pages. I gutted the White Pages code and
replaced it with a chunk of aklog code and some pts lookup code. Anyhow,
the Andrew ls has a hash table for caching info it knows, so this cuts back
on performance worries.
Here are the problems I'm working out:
1) large uid's, i.e. for cross-cell PTS ids, confuse it.
2) behavior of following links versus looking at the link
