Tom,
_Most_ sites don't have multi-homed file _or_ database servers, so I
don't believe there is any inconsistency.
I'm sorry that you feel cheated by the fact that we limited
the support of multi-homed servers in AFS 3.4 to file servers only.
This was a decision that I made in an attempt to constrain the scope
of the problem so that we could solve it in the available time, and
ship 3.4.
Pardon my naivete, but what problem are you trying to solve that can't
be addressed by replicating the database servers?
