I'm new to this list, but it appears there has been some discussion recently (26 october) about multi-homed servers. The statement was made: "_Most_ sites don't have multi-homed file _or_ database servers, so I don't believe there is any inconsistency." The IN2P3 is not "most sites", but in order to have separate networks for separate functions (tape stageing and data access) and thereby avoid having a byte-hungry application gobble up the data-access network bandwidth, we will have to use multi-homed hosts, some of which are necessarily DB servers. So I cast one more vote for complete multi-homed server support.
