The email has a few different messages. Please read all of it, so
that you don't miss something important.

First, I'd like to announce the release of Linux-AFS 1.1.62, which
works with Linux 1.1.62, 63, 64, and 65. It has a lot of improvements
over Linux-AFS 1.1.61, and I'm very much considering this code
production code.

Second, this is a reminder to all sites: if you obtained Linux-AFS at
any time before Linux-AFS 1.1.61 (this means 1.1.54, 1.1.48 or any
time before then), then I urge you to stop everyone at your site from
running those versions of Linux-AFS (before 1.1.61). There was a bug
in the code (fixed in 1.1.61) which will cause a Linux-AFS client
machine to spew packets at your AFS server, possibly spewing as many
as thousands of packets per second, bringing your AFS service to a
halt on that machine. Updating to 1.1.61 will fix this problem, but
you should make sure that everyone at your site updates!

Third, the Linux-AFS mailing list has been split and restructured.
There are now three lists:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- this list is for reporting bugs
about the Linux-AFS. Bug reports should include the version of Linux
you are using, the version of Linux-AFS, the actual bug, any kernel
syslog messages, entried from zModule.map or zSystem.map (as stated
above), and anything else you might think is pertinent.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- this list is for general questions,
information, help, discussion, etc. about Linux-AFS. It is open to
the public. People at MIT can add themselves in moira (use something
like: blanche linux-afs -a $user). Non-MIT people should use the
-request list.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- this list is the administrative
list for linux-afs. All subscription requests should be sent here.
Any subscriptions (or unsubs) sent to the real mailing list,
linux-afs, will be ignored and the user severely flamed! ;-)

I suggest that anyone intersted in Linux-AFS discussion subscribe to
the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list. THis is all in the README file
at Transarc, in the directory
        /afs/transarc.com/public/afs-contrib/bin/linux.client

You must have valid Transarc tokens to get into this directory.
Currently, Linux-AFS is not available to export-licensees of AFS.
Hopefully this can be remedied at some point in the near future, but
we'll have to see what happens.

Thanks for reading this far. I hope my work has helped you all in
some manner!

Enjoy!
