I have a rather large workstation. A Sun SC2000 with 512MB of ram
6 processors etc. Looking at the Transarc documentation about
the parameters to afsd (System Administration Guide Page 13-12)
I see:
"rc.afsd.large which initializes a "large" Cache Manager suitable for a
machine with five to ten users, 32 megabytes of RAM, and a 100-megabyte
cache."
My questions are:
1) Is it crazy to attempt to support say a 500MB or a 1GB cache?
2) What parameters would you use?
3) What is going to be the limiting factor?
4) Whom out there has done this type of thing before?
