I know that several sites, including andrew.cmu.edu, have developed
versions of the MIT kadmind program which accept password change requests
and forward them to the AFS kaserver, rather than modifying a local
Kerberos database.
Has anyone developed a version of kadmind which does both? We maintain
MIT kerberos servers separate from our AFS cell, which are used for all
authentication in our facility. However, it is occaisonally necessary
for users to maintain principals in the kaserver database, primarily for
use from other cells which expect to do standard AFS authentication and
don't know about our Kerberos servers.
Recently, we've received a number of comments from users who are
frustrated with trying to keep these passwords in sync. So, I'd like to
install a modified version of kadmind which automatically changes a
user's AFS password whenever the Kerberos password is changed. Does
anyone have a version of kadmind which does this?
Please send any responses directly to me, and I will summarize to the
list. I don't always get the time I need to read this list.
