First, if you are interested in receiving mail about future
releases and updates to Linux-AFS, please subscribe to the mailing
list [EMAIL PROTECTED] by sending mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I don't plan to send any more updates to [EMAIL PROTECTED] until
the export issues are cleared up!
That being said.....
Due to some changes in the Linux kernel MMAP interface in
newer versions of the kernel, I had to make a new release of
Linux-AFS. The newest release, Linux-AFS 1.1.72, is now available at
Transarc to all site contacts in the US, with tokens, from the
directory:
/afs/transarc.com/public/afs-contrib/bin/linux.client
There is also a slightly older release, for which I never sent
mail. Linux-AFS 1.1.67 fixes a number of bugs in 1.1.62, speeds up
the cell configuration, etc. Read the Notes file for a full
description of the changes made. Again, you need to have tokens in
the Transarc AFS cell to get into this directory, so talk to your site
contact!
When you obtain Linux-AFS distributions for your site, please
be sure to read the README and Notes files appropriate for the
releases you obtain for your site, and please copy them with the
distributions so that users at your site can read the (limited)
documentation as well!
At this point, libraries and headers are not, yet available.
I hope to make them available at some point, soon! I have to battle
the MIT legal department first!
Note to MIT people: you can obtain Linux-AFS from the directory:
/mit/afsdev/beta/i386_linux1
