Dear sir,
with this mail I will handle an important subject.
We, the community of AFS users, are daily confornted with new OS-Releases.
My opinion ist that Transarc should supply us with a schedule refering to new
OS realeases.
I need to know the plans for
AIX 4.1
OSF 3.0
IRIX 6
SUN Solaris 2.4
Most of them are available for me today.
I need answers for the following questions:
a. Willi there be a port?
b. When will the client parts be available? (beta and production; estimations i
are fine)
c. When will the server parts be available? (beta and production; estimations i
are fine)
It is my personal opion that between client and server
there may be a wide range of time.
I need these information updated every month automaticly.
A second issue:
A Linux client is an excellent thing, but only if it is available all(!) over
the world. May be you can set up something that allow people to come together
to find a solution for this issue. I think for everbody in Europe this is an
big point.
