        AFS 3.4 will have hooks for supporting tape stackers, robots or
any other chicanery you use for backups. Basically you can specify a
program to call whenever a tape is mounted or unmounted. You have to
provide the drivers for the robot, and the code to track and move the
tapes around. John Morin did a great job on cleaning up the backup
software and adding in the new features - I'm sure you'll be pleased
with it when 3.4 finally rolls out.
        Some folks cooked up expect scripts for the existing AFS backup
software, I think it was U Mich, but I'm not sure.  Haven't tried it
myself.
