We have been attempting to create an anonymous ftp server for our campus. We had the thought that we could overlay it on top of our AFS cell so that it could easily be available to all our workstation users. My trouble was in creating device files within AFS. In my mind, it makes sense that I would not be able to create a device within AFS but that leaves me with a problem since the ftp server does a 'chroot' to the chosen place. I would like to hear from anyone who has done something similar with suggestion or perhaps some description of how they did it.
