We have been running an application (Pro/Engineer) from AFS for several
years with no problems. We have 3 RO sites of the binaries and up
until now it has worked just fine.

Yesterday we installed a new version of the application, tested it from
the RW volume and vos released it to the other sites. Now, some
clients can run the application from RO mount points just fine and
others get the following error:

Could not load program /afs/re.deere.com/proe/prod/ibm_rs6000/obj/pro
Relocation entry number 2758 is defective in csh
Error was: Exec format error

I have checked serverprefs on the clients that have this problem, but
there doesn't seem to be a pattern there.

One thing I noticed in the FileLog is that every time we vos release
the volume we get the following message:

Thu Feb 2 17:19:33 1995 VAttachVolume: Cannot read volume header
/vicepb//V0536872893.vl

Is this normal?

Also in FileLog I see the following messages at various different times:

Thu Feb 2 22:39:58 1995 CB: RCallBackConnectBack (host.c) failed for
host a479153a.7001

Can anyone shed any light on this situation?

Thanks,
Hope Goering
