We're looking for other AFS users who are running AFS on HP800 Series
machines.

We've had a series of problems, not limited to but including
disappearing vice partitions (specifically, /vicepa is either
not mounted at boot, causing the fileserver process to exit
due to too many errors; or /vicepa disappears after the fileserver
has been running for hours, for no apparent reason).

On many occasions the fileserver can not be restarted without
rebooting the machine. A bos status reports that the
fileserver is "currently shutting down" -- it stays that way
for a long (long long long) time. "shutdown -r" then
hangs at an HPUX message: "Warning: Some processes wouldn't die" and
the machine has to be hard booted.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Is anyone running AFS on HP800 Series machines?

Is anyone else running AFS on HP800 MP machines? (We've got an MP
with 3 CPUs running AFS client and server both and have been unable
to determine if anyone else has tried this. We have not had good
results thus far, though both HP and Transarc have been and continue
to be helpful.)

If not on 800 Series, can anyone share experiences with HP 700 Series
as AFS fileservers?

Thanks.
