After years of running DEC equipment and distributing and supporting
DEC unix via AFS I find myself up to my ears in IBM PowerPC boxes
running AIX 4.1. I would like to support them in the same
manner that I am supporting my other unix boxes. (i.e. Load
the whole os / applications into AFS and then distribute them
with a "package" like software distribution tool). If you have any
comments, tips, or applications that you are willing to share with
me that will help me get up to speed I would certainly
appreciate it. I am particulary interested in how to get
the software read off of the installation CD-ROM and into
AFS and how to maintain the /usr/lpp databases via AFS.
If you will email your responses to me I will post a
summary to info-afs after a week or so.

Thanks,
