According to Hans Dieter Petersen:

> can DCE clients and AFS-Clients run on the same machine?
Yes, DCE/DFS ond AFS clients may coexist quite happily on the same
machine. Each will have its own cache etc, and they wont interfere
with each other.

In principle: Yes. But if you want to run Transarc's DFS-AFS Translator
as a migration aid or in order to allow old AFS-only client machines
to access DFS space, then the definite answer is: NO. The reason being,
that the translator speaks AFS-rx protokoll to the AFS clients, and it has
to run as an additional process on all the DFS servers.
