Mike,
        We also are evaluating the "vosasm" solution with Box Hill.
It seems to work well with the Networker software (ver 4.1), however you 
must know what fileserver the original volume was on.  We balance AFS user volumes 
across multiple servers, so this is very difficult to track.  Also the NT
support for Networker is not what we were hoping for.  So we are looking 
for other alternatives.  The AFS support is usually missing from all 
commercial backup solutions we have looked at
