When you do stat() against an AFS file it turns out that the device number (devno) is 1 (at least where I tested it). Does anybody know whether a. this is the same for all architectures, b. this is likely to change with future versions of AFS. It's not 1 on Domain/OS, but it's unlikely to change, as it's unlikely I'll ever do any more versions of the Domain/OS client.
