We installed MS Office in our cell under our apps directory (/afs/xxx/fs/apps/
pcapps/...). You have to specify a server install by executing setup /A.
Once it is complete, you may want to check your Unix mode bits to make sure
everything is read only, but if you install MS Office Pro, watch out for an
Access directory named workdir. I have all the files & directories set to
444, with workdir set to 775, and this seems to work fine, or as good as it
can on a PC.
Once you have loaded the server load, all you have to do is execute setup out
of the cell and indicate a workstation load. This will load only the parts
of the MS apps that need to be at the local PC.
Good luck...Mic

Subject: PC-Interface software

As much as I've found, you can't install it since MS Office
needs NetBios to install correctly.
At least I couldn't install it, stoping in the beginning when
the Setup program finds out the space available in the server.
The solution to my problem was to use Samba, which installs a
NetBios server in a Unix box. Besides, it IS free...:)
Hope this helped.
