Hi,

Do you have any idea if there is a way of changing the header
of a volume. Let me explain this a little further: today we restored
a volume from tape but we set the parameters bad so when we finished it
the volume had a name with the date on it and the volume entry wasn't in the
vldb.
If we make a vos listvol the volume is in the partition but when
I tried to do a vos syncvldb to that partition, the command can't
syncronize it because of the name:

-- Processing entry 7 of total 8 --
Trying to create a new VLDB entry for p.sprel24.build.d08/08/95 ...
Could not create a VLDB entry for the volume 536916296
VLDB: volume name is illegal
-- done processing entry 7 of total 8 --

So I was wondering if I could just change the name in the header
and then sync the vldb or the only solution is to restore the volume again.

  Thanks for your help,
