AFS System Administration       08/07/95  3 days
Course No. LA20

This course prepares students to plan, install, manage
and recover the distributed file system, AFS.  This class
covers terms and concepts for effective AFS admini-
stration including planning for growth and end user
training needs, and troubleshooting.  System admini-
stration tasks taught include managing client machines
and volumes, account creation and  the AFS backup
system.  Cost: $1,600 per enrollee.


DCE Secure Core System Administration   08/07/95 3 days
Course No. LA30

This class teaches the functionality of each component
of the DCE Secure Core, as well as the interaction
between the various components.  It also addresses
tasks that a system administrator will need to perform,
such as backup and restore, cell reconfiguration, and
security.  Cost: $1,200 per enrollee.


DFS System Administration       08/10/95  2 days
Course No. LA40

This class teaches the functionality of DFS and the
different components that comprise the distributed file
system.  This class focuses on tasks a system admini-
stration will need to perform, including the administra-
tion of filesets, client and server machines, backup and
restore, and DFS account administration.
Cost: $1,000 per enrollee.


Encina Monitor System Administration    08/10/95  2 days
Course No. LA50

Through the use of basic Monitor examples, students
gain an understanding of the Encina Monitor environ-
ment as a whole, and how each DCE and Encina com-
ponent is used.  Students will also acquire a basic un-
derstanding of installation and configuration issues of
the Encina Monitor, the Structured File Server and Log
Service. Cost: $1,000 per enrollee.


DCE Programming I  HANDS-ON  08/14/95  3 days
Course No. HP301

This class teaches the concepts behind each of the
components of DCE so students gain experience cod-
ing applications that use these components.  Signifi-
cant class time is devoted to hands-on activities to rein-
force the concepts taught during the lecture.  Students
access DCE on multiple hardware platforms through X
terminals.  Cost: $1,200 per enrollee.



DCE Programming II HANDS-ON  08/17/95  2 days
Course No. HP302

This course is an extension of DCE Programming I and
will revisit each of the major topics in additional detail.
It is intended for programmers who are developing g
full DCE client/server Secure Core applications or
Encina Toolkit applications.  Cost: $800 per enrollee.


Programming with Encina HANDS-ON   08/21/95  5 day
Course No. HP50

This class provides a foundation for writing transac-
tional, client/server applications using the Encina prod-
ucts.  The class is comprised of three modules.  Of-
fered as a five day program, the three modules are
Programming with Encina Monitor, RQS and PPC
Services.  Cost: $500 per enrollee per day.

All courses listed here will be held at the Westfields International
Conference Center in Washington, DC.  Specific information will be
provided upon registration.
