Works for me. See the AFS 3.6 install instructions; start at
http://www.transarc.com/Library/documentation/afs/3.6/unix/en_US/HTML/index.htm
and look for the Quick Beginnings document, then the section "Enabling
AFS Login on Linux Systems". You have to install an authentication
library and then configure PAM to use it.
