I think your big enemy is latency.
At the MADE2000 conference Stig �stholm IBM/Scania Trucks presented
how they did a WAN connection in the DCE/DFS environment.

Short summary: Works well for branch offices in Sweden (Scania is
based in S�dert�lje near Stockholm) but did not work for branch in
South America.
If you end up with more than one cell, you can have all cells
administered in one (krb4) realm. Users can get tokens in
all cells automatically.
