Hi all,

this question goes to those on the list who are export (i.e. non-US)
customers.

I've been trying to build AFS from the sources in order to get it
running on my SuSE Linux 7.0 system. (Stock AFS segfaults after afsd has
been started, although libafs gets loaded correctly.)

The problem is that with the source code and the Makefiles provided by
Transarc in src.tar.gz, I cannot successfully built AFS (neither 3.5 nor
3.6). Reason: The stuff in src/des and src/rxkad/domestic is missing and
the rules within the top-level Makefile try to access these directories.

Transarc AFS Product Support has confirmed that building AFS from source
is not possible for export customers with the Makefiles they provide.
They advised me to ask on this list if any other export customer has
figured out how to do this, i.e. has patched the top-level Makefile.

So that's what I'm asking for: Is there any non-US customer who has
already built AFS from source? And if yes, how did you do it?

BTW, of course I know that Open AFS is announced and should be available
soon. Hopefully compilation will work for all types of customers.
Anyway, I'd like to know if someone has made it with "normal" AFS.

Regards,
Markus
