Received an answer from Transarc. Thought they would be slower over the
holidays.

In regards to your problem:
>SMS and Win2k AFS Client 3.6.
The same problem had been reported by another AFS customer and the
problem
turned out to be with Microsoft. They provided a hotfix with a new
services.exe which fixes the problem.
When you report this problem to microsoft, you can reference the
following
case # so they can find this problem:
***** Case Id: SRX001121603927
***** Title: Alliance/SMS/AFS and SMS client interactions can
cause
crash
I am not sure if this fix is in one of their latest patch releases
because
this problem was reported within the past 2 months.
Sincerely,
Sharon
