HI All,
I am having the following problem, I am working on a solaris box
through a pserver and whenever I do
a "cvs update -A -P -d it attempts to patch a host of files (I believe it
does this rather than the overhead of pulling
down a FULL set of changed files) these patched files end up with associated
".new" files and the original file
does not get updated.

What are these ".new" files all about and is there a way for me to force
it to do an update and not this ?

I also get the following with arbitrary files upon attempting to update :

cvs update: could not patch StraightBondDataBean.java; will refetch
cvs server: Updating src/web/com/lehman/converts//config
P src/web/com/lehman/converts//config/SystemConfig.java
patch: Invalid options.
patch: Usage: patch [-blNR] [-c|-e|-n] [-d dir] [-D define] [-i
patchfile]\
              [-o outfile] [-p num] [-r rejectfile] [file]

I am using cvs 1.11 on SunOS 5.8 .

Any help much appreciated.

Brian.
