        [smc]  You patch the source code to fix it and recompile CVS.
        Here's a patch (same as I submitted to [EMAIL PROTECTED] some
        time ago... I have gotten exactly zero feedback, positive or
        negative, and I didn't do a  _whole lot_ ot testing, but I think it 
        works right.)  If you try it, and it you find problems, or find that
        it works great, let me know.
