$date$

I would like to be able to use $Date$ keyword which generates this
information $Date: 2000/03/09 02:18:41 $ 

as 

$Date: 2000 $ 

So anytime when a file is checked out it will only show the year,
either using $Date$ keyword or anything else could be very helpful.

Any ideas...
