Frank,
I've noticed a similar, if not the same, problem when checking out to a
Samba-shared drive from NT. I'm using CVS 1.10.8 WinCVS1.1b11 client with
pserver access to a CVS 1.10.8 Solaris server.
For us, from WinCVS, cvs co -Pd <module> does not prune empty directories
if the directory being checked out to is a Samba mount. Pruning works fine
if the directory being checked out to is a local drive (e.g. C:\).
My initial presumption was that the Samba permissions needed to be opened
up, but I'm not sure if that would have any effect. The permissions
currently set for the share include:
browseable = no
read only = no
writable = yes
create mode = 0770
case sensitive = no
preserve case = yes
short preserve case = yes
Anyone have information on preferred settings for Samba shares which are to
contain CVS checkouts, or what else might be preventing pruning of
directories?
Thanks,
David Martin
