Hmmm, okay, perhaps you can explain what the situation with the stewardship
of CVS is. It seems that Cyclic basically got tired of maintaining it,
but didn't feel like passing the torch. Then they were bought by SourceGear,
who maintains a (slow) web page for it and little else. How did OpenAvenue
get passed the stewardship? Or is there no tie in - you're just stepping
in to try to push forward your own branch of a project that is barely
maintained by its current steward?
I'd be interested to hear what plans you and your company have for the future
of CVS. Do you plan to do most of the development yourself, taking patches
that you like from the developer community? Or do you plan to simply be
organizers, making releases and keeping buglists, but leaving most of the
actual code-writing to independant developers?
If you do plan on doing heavy development yourself, what features or changes
do you plan to make to CVS? That is...fundamental design changes, or just
optimizations and clean-ups?
