This crash only occurs if you're using PreservePermissions -- the
PreservePermissions code is notoriously buggy and seems to have been
abandoned by its original developer. I strongly suggest that you not
use it -- it's been disabled in the current development version of CVS.

Developers do read the lists. Contacting cyclic wouldn't help -- CVS is
maintained by a (very!) loosely organized group of volunteers, not
cyclic.
