how to remove completly a project?

Once a project is imported, is there a way to remove it from cvsroot completely?

for example, i imported a directory (project) but realized that it's the
wrong one. I want to remove it totally from cvs.

I'm afraid it is not kosher to simply delete the directory in cvsroot,
is it?
