Hi All,
OK, here is as I see it:
1. 60 chars - NO GO (see below)
2. 80 chars - NO GO (see above)
3. Non-proportional fonts, fonts choice, second dialog with Curier etc. - no
go. This is bloat.
4. To keep (1) and (2) quasi solved: Caret position box - watch your limits
by yourself!
5. To have (3) quasi solved: Put another button to invoke the viewer(it is
already setup in WinCvs, see Preferences->WinCvs), you can type proportional
there and after you're done - select all, copy, close, paste (it will be
easy since we'll have r-click menu back).
6. Make the box wider - should be enought for 80 chars. No problem, there is
space on the right for it.
7. Break the line - no go. Break it yourself supllied with (4)
8. 64K problem on Win9x - it is a Log message, should not be 64K in any
case!
9. Write ChangeLog in HTML - NO GO (out of the problem's scope, feel free to
type the HTML anyway ;)
I am trying to compromise the dialog so to not to bloat it and yet to keep
it useful and help you guys to format the log message. However, keep in mind
that this dialog is not supposed to be a text editor nor wordprocessor, and
a log message should not be too long or complicated. I think that to supply
dialog with caret info + button to lauch the editor should keep everybody
happy. Once you have the r-click cut/copy/paste menu back it should be
fairly easy to make your log message looking the way you like. In any case
it should be a gain over the Richedit we have now.
Any comments welcome!

Jerzy
