Hello,

As many of you may have learned, WinCVS (I use 1.1.b12) provides a
locking mechanism for a user to lock a module or a file.

However, the lock does not prevent the user from starting an editing
session, modifying or updating a file. The impact is that once a user
have modified a file, he cannot unlock it even if he is the one who
locked the file.

I have tried unediting the file to revert the change before I tried
unlocking the file, but it didn't work either. I'd appreciate it if
anyone would offer any solution to the problem.

Here is a sample of error messages I got from WinCVS when trying to
unlock hello.c:

cvs server: /usr/local/cvsroot/myproj4/hello.c,v: multiple revisions
locked by veronica; please specify one
cvs server: cannot modify RCS file for `hello.c'
