It appears it still looks for the local repository on box B rather than
box A...

When I tried the command in box B I got the following errors:

cvs [checkout aborted]: cannot make directory myproj: No such file or
directory

In box A where the actual repository sits, it was OK:

cvs server: Updating myproj
U myproj/hello.c
U myproj/sample.jpg
cvs server: Updating myproj/a-subdir
cvs server: Updating myproj/b-subdir

This is the exact command I ran on both boxes after I login to CVS:

/usr/local/bin/cvs -d :pserver:veronica@boxA:/usr/local/repos_on_A co
myproj
