There is currently no way to retrieve a file's fileattr through the client/server protocol. This makes the feature non-extensible (when new fileattrs are to be added) among other things (eg there's no way to find out if a file's watch status is on). I propose to add a "fileattr" request in the client/server protocol that will retrieve all of a file's fileattrs. Does anyone have any comments, suggestions, ...?
