It is a common misconception people have that CVS is a configuration
management tool as well as a version control tool. It is not.
However, it would not be too difficult, depending on the
diversity of your environment, to place wrappers around the
cvs commands to add CM capabilities to CVS. Perhaps someone
who has done this can ring in and offer their scripts. (I
seem to remember that Fermi lab [sp?] has such a set of
scripts.)
