attempting to commit changes to a module, i get the following error:

cvs commit altmedia
? altmedia/altmedia
cvs server: sticky tag `v1-6' for file `altmedia/CHANGELOG' is not a
branch
cvs server: sticky tag `v1-6' for file `altmedia/main.pc' is not a
branch
cvs server: sticky tag `v1-6' for file `altmedia/zum1and2.pc' is not a
branch
cvs [server aborted]: correct above errors first!
cvs commit: saving log message in /tmp/cvs9cvLqb

there is no branch in this line of code. i've tagged each successive
version v1-0, v1-1, etc. i checked it out using the following command:

cvs co -r v1-6 altmedia

i'm new to cvs and my ignorance is likely the cause of the problem.
after i commit, i tag the module. i've been doing things this way for
weeks now without a glitch.

any and all help appreciated.
