I know little of Windows C++ compilers, and I'm not really up on
the Apple MrC compiler for Macintosh Programmer's Workshop, but
I have worked with Metrowerks Codewarrior for the Mac, and I
assure you that you can change the default file extensions easily.
If you do so for the template projects it uses, it should be
picked up for all future projects.
So, in addition, what specific compilers are you using that appear
to need different extensions?
